Talked to Murph, Montana and Ally today

I'll have a story coming soon, but this team seems super locked in and focused. Montana and Ally never came out and said it, but they definitely implied that the attitude on this team is much better than lasts, and they're all on the same page despite ranging in ages from 17 to 23.

-They love the new pitching coach, Lance McMahon, and Murph likes what he's done with all four pitchers. He thinks the Michigan transfer Lauren Esman could make a big impact for the Tide.
-The goal for Montana and Ally (and the whole team obviously) but especially since it's their last year is clear, and they're not being shy about it. It's OKC or bust. Montana went her freshman year in 2019, no WCWS in 2020 because of COVID, went back in 2021 and had her perfect game against UCLA and then obviously last year they didn't even advance to Super Regionals for the first time ever.
-Like I said, I'll have more coming in a story soon, and will probably talk to Murph and some student athletes the week games start

Loved that story, Katie.
I'm intrigued by Preuitt's speed in cf and leadoff, potentially.
I'm curious about 2b and 1b both. Multiple candidates at both.. I see Hensley in RF.
Plenty of folks to consider at DH. Too many to guess on one.
The No. 2 starter after Fouts could be one of three girls. Esman is a wild card with very little pitching experience past the HS/travel level but who knows? McMahon has his hands full.
A lot to sort out early.
Should be a lot of fun.

I think Esman will be the No. 2. I'll have more of an overall season preview coming later, and probably a story on Esman and Lance once I get to talk to her. Murph seems pretty confident in her.
