FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The University of Alabama women’s golf team concluded the final round at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club (North Course) in Franklin, Tenn. Sunday, finishing the second tournament of the season as runner ups on a 12-under-par 852 tournament total. It marks the program’s lowest team score of the regular season since recording a 45-under-par 807 at the Schooner Fall Classic Sept. 28-30, 2018.

The Crimson Tide stringed together rounds of 285 (-4), 278 (-10) and 289 (+1) to post its lowest tournament total of the regular season in three years and its first runner-up finish since Oct. 25-27, 2019 at the Landfall Tradition. It is also 11 strokes better than the same lineup scored less than two weeks ago at the season opener, when the team finished in fourth place at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.

Oregon led the Mason Rudolph Championship wire-to-wire, topping the field with a 26-under-par 838. Florida came in third place on a 7-under-par 853.

Alabama’s Benedetta Moresco and Polly Mack both finished inside the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.

Moresco paced the Crimson Tide throughout the weekend outing, recording a 1-over-par 73 in the final round for a 5-under-par 211 tournament total. Just a sophomore, Moresco tied for seventh place to mark her second straight top-15 finish to begin her second season at the Capstone.

It took 18 holes for Mack to settle in but when she found her groove, she didn’t disappoint. Mack rallied back-to-back rounds below par, posting a second-round 68 and a third-round 71 to garner her second straight top-10 finish on a 4-under-par 212 to tie for 10th place. She also collected a team-high 15 birdies throughout the tournament.

Angelica Moresco remained composed all weekend, putting together a pair of even-par rounds to open and close the tournament and inserting a 2-under-par 70 between those outings. The graduate student collected a top-20 finish, recording a 2-under-par 214 tournament total to share 17th place.

New to the roster this season, Edwards hasn’t wasted time contributing to the team. The junior transfer posted a 1-over-par 73 in her final 18 holes at the Vanderbilt Legends Club (North Course), reporting a 3-over-par 219 tournament total, a season best, to finish tied for 38th place.

Emilie Øverås shot a 5-over-par 77 in the final round for a 4-over-par 220 tournament total, tying for 44th place,
